Spoke with Rita this morning, a customer service representative at Rustoleum. The info she provided is the following:

1) Verde Green is not being discontinued, but they have run their last batch in the current formula. This color is up for "refreshening," so possible that the new color will look closer to original, or not... Hard to say.
2) Her system showed there are still 2000 cans in stock. Orders typically come in at 6 cans at a time (case), so she expected it to last awhile.
3) She recommended making larger purchases through a local Fastenal store versus Home Depot or Lowes, if you were looking for a case or more. Also mentioned Grainger, but they are less likely to carry or assist as they focus more on the industrial products (her opinion, may or may not be correct).

I was left with a comfort level that at least the supply is still around and accessible, without needing to stockpile and hoard at this moment. :D

Also shared with her the "Greenie" application for the Verde Green and showed her where to find some examples to share with coworkers.

Here is a test sample of the Verde green I sprayed this weekend.

I found out that the texture varies significantly depending on several factors. I will post more info once I have had a chance to use it a little more. If your planning on painting your machine, definately do some sample sprays prior to get the feel for thickness, speed etc.

I found that to get the hammered effect you had to spray a pretty heavy coat which if you are not careful will create runs.

Have you noticed a texture difference between primed and unprimed sheet metal? How about primed or unprimed aluminum?

Every thing I have painted has been primed with Rustoleum primer for rusty metal or with their primer for metals that are not rusty so I can't really say if there is a difference. I personally did not attempt to create a heavy hammered look because I did not want to risk runs on verticle surfaces.
