WE bought in 2010 when prices were down. We got lucky. Now houses are overpriced and Sedona is overrun by tourists (mostly weekenders from phoenix) and ATVs. But I don't complain too much cause of the beauty I can see even from my back yard. I'll give you a shout if we're in Cambria again. Thanks.

A fun discovery today Bandsaw is “new in box”, never assembled, never ran SN 80295, not sure if there is a way to look up?
Can’t find a SN on machine any ideas?
Also found additional parts and motor isa GE

I’ll bet you got an amazingly great deal! We purchased in 2015 and everything has about doubled here since then. We get a lot of tourists but no new construction permits allowed due to water issues so it’s very peaceful during the week and off season. Thanks again for all your help. I ran off the manual and starting to figure things out.

Since it has been in the box since it was made in May of 1983 the Bandsaw has a bit of surface rust. It should clean up well and be a nice tool for you. Since it has "sat" for so long a bit of lubrication may be needed in the upper wheel bearing. It is not a permanently lubricated & sealed bearing. The wheel comes off the shaft by removing the clip and grease is added to the bearings inside. You can find this in the Maintenance section of the Manual starting on page 48. Your Manual that came with it should be dated 12/82 on the lower right corner of the back cover. The manual does look in pretty bad shape though. You should also consider the other lubrication recommendations in the maintenance section before use.

Thanks Russ for the recommendations. I will definitely go through everything. I have the manual getting flattened out under the table and hopefully will get some use out of it. It’s odd now that I think about it, that bandsaw spent 40 years sitting in that box, I wonder why the guy bothered to purchase it?

A nib happens often. Someone gets excited at a demo and purchases then after it arrives gets busy and never got around to opening the box.

I’m a kid at Christmas time when I bring it home though don’t always get around to using it right away.

Ok, the GE electric motor runs. There is a guy on eBay that charges $89.50 to rebuild the motor, https://www.ebay.com/itm/121163313221
I’m guessing the noise it makes is due to a lot of rusty parts rubbing together.
Has anybody had any dealings with this eBay repair shop. Any alternate possibilities? Thank you!

I have not used his service. However, he is a respected eBay seller of SS items. I would go for it if you don't want to do it yourself.
