Which Special Purpose Tools (SPT) do you have?

I also have the oscilating drum sander attachment which I do like for doing my curved sanding. Please I do understand the limit just thought I would add this for others to see.

Yes, an oscillating drum sander is another item that many will have in their shop. Unfortunately, as you have already acknowledged, there are limits to this particular polling tool and it can't be added.

Maybe, later, there should be another poll into which we might incorporate all those tools that we are learning about here.

Hopefully, everyone who has tools that are NOT included in the list will do as you have done and mention them for the benefit of the group.

Surprised? Nope. The bandsaw and jointer are pretty nearly "must have" first tools. At least they were in my case.
I'm sure many opted for less expensive or bigger DCs and the same for the planer.

Thanks for doing this, Dusty. This confirms my suspicions that my next purchase for the SS should be a bandsaw. I have the jointer.

I kind of thought that was what was needed based on all the projects I wanted to do from the woodworking magazines, but don't start for lack of equipment. Now I'm feeling really spoiled with the SS and all it's capabilities. And my Dad is a little envious because now I have TWO tablesaws vs. his one.

My Mark V came with a band saw as part of the "deal" that day. I got a jointer about 2 months later, the the MV mounted planer. I am looking at the dust collector now. Other than a miter saw and router that were gifts, that is my shop. My challange is learning to use them to capacity!!

Not really surprised. I got the jointer and band saw with my original purchase and as a promotion the DC 3300 was included. Since then I have purchased other SS SPT's and because of budget restrictions had to go with a good deal I got on the DeWalt Planner and Dremal Scroll Saw.

None of this surprises me. However I do have a belt sander (Craftsman) as a standalone as well as a scrollsaw (DeWalt). Maybe it would have helped if the poll asked about this as well?

When I voted I jumped the gun a little bit. My strip sander arrived today.

I was not inclined to have a strip sander until the "Shopsmith week-end" last July. There, Nick Engler demonstrated sharpening bench and lathe chisels on the strip sander and my son and I were sold.
