If you need a $3700 table saw, the 520 is not the choice. The SS is great for what it was designed for. With a full size cabinet saw, I'd have more capabilities than the SS can provide.

I'm not knocking my SS. It has allowed me to build many things. I was able to get started in woodworking without having the budget to buy all the machinery the SS provided. I can still do most things on the SS, but it takes more time and attention to the machinery. Still, I doubt I'll ever get rid of my MkV 500.
cincinnati10, you have taken one of my suggestions out of context: I was just listing choices. I can understand your sentiments about spending that kind of money, if it were just for a table saw. However, if knot for improving the table saw mode, why wood any one upgrade to a 520 table system?? Currently, you can buy a new Mark V with the 505, 510 or 520 table system. The only advantage of the 520 over the 510 is in the table saw mode. Buying new, I wood go straight for the 520 table system. Currently, I have the 510 with no plans to upgrade. Fortunately, if a person does buy a new Mark V, with any version table system, they are knot just buying a table saw.
