How does one find a "hidden link" and why does the mere existence of a link make a post spam?
I say again, John, you would make an excellent moderator. It is a shame that SS has not recruited you.
As Ed says, just quote the post like you want to reply to it and the post shows up in plain text and you can see the link that does not show up in HTML that you view on the forum. A link is SPAM if its only purpose is to promote a web site unrelated to the thread in question. In this case it is some kind of Pizza site.
As I and others have said the purpose is to get a particular site to show up higher in search results. That presumably results in more clicks on the site and hence more money. SPAMers hide the links because many sites (like this one) don't tolerate SPAM which the non-relevent links are. It does not matter to the SPAMer that we can't see the link. The search engines constantly scan everything on the web and read the plain text and can see these links that we can't see. Search result hierarchy is returned by the number of times a link to a site is seen on the web.

It shows up in your post now and it works. Except my Malwarebytes browser guard blocks it due to a suspicious top level domain. It also shows up in Dusty's quote of your post Both links should be deleted.

To get back to the original topic of the SHOPSMITH 75th Anniversary Celebration Event – October 6-7, 2023 I have an update from my last post. We closed on Thursday for the new house. Hopefully our current house will sell quickly once we move and get it on the market. I do want to attend but will still have to wait to be able to commit to attending until after our current house sells.
John, thanks so much for making this event happen.
