Paul and Ed,

thank you both for the follow ups and pictures.

Paul,
the lathe duplicators may come with the extensions. just because I didn't seem to get one with either one of my used ones may just mean that they are sitting in work bench drawers at previous owners.
I am a little surprised that I can't find it on the parts list. when I remember where I put it, I'll try looking in the manual.

paulmcohen wrote:You need unscrew the shaft from the head of the "Live Cup Center" , a ~1.5" rod the same diameter as the shaft, the rod has a threaded hole in one end and a matching threaded rod in the other. You then insert this between the head and shaft and your "Live Cup Center" gets 1.5" longer, you can insert up the two giving you a few extra inches of reach.
Would a piece of threaded (inside and out) pipe work the same way??

The part number might help. It is 505602 and is shown in the online catalog.

The part that comes with the lathe duplicator is not a M2F to M2M extender. It is a spacer to be used with the live tailstock center.

It has 1/2"-18 threads with male on one end and female on the other.

As noted earlier you need to 'ask' for it(it is not in any catalog/online).

The lathe duplicator 'manual' I have lists it as a SPACER with pn 514704.
