I received all of them by email. It seemed for awhile that I was receiving one every day.

Yep. Me too. I get the same ones Tom_K/Mo gets. Maybe if you haven't ordered anything from the specials in a certain period of time you are dropped from the mailing list.

After I placed an order I was receiving them regularly as well but have not received any for months now (and haven't ordered either for that matter)... I suspect that if you don't order perhaps once every 6 months that they might drop you from the list.. Of course I could be wrong..

When I first got my Shopsmith in February I signed up for them - and I have not received one yet.

I've tried to sign up again but it knows I've already signed up!

I'm on this computer more than I am in the shop, so I just check now and then.

You would think that they would send them out to everyone since there is no postage.

It costs them nothing to keep sending e-mails, and it might produce a sale. There is no good reason to be taken off the list. There is a good explanation though: In most cases, your e-mail provider automatically blocks SPAM. This SPAM is SPAM by their definition, knot yours. I have resorted to setting my options to allow all SPAM. More then half of the e-mail that comes through marked as SPAM is e-mail that I want. I have Shopsmith set up, on my providers site, as someone that I always want to receive mail from, and about 25% comes through marked as SPAM. They can knot explain it.

I suggest that you change your settings and see what happens.

Good point Tim! I'm my own email provider (I run my own mail server in my garage) and can review the logs to see if anything was tagged. However in this case even all of my identified spam is put in a special folder for review. Last time I reviewed it (with well over a thousand items after only a couple of weeks since it was cleared last) I found nothing that shouldn't be there..

As for me it is not marked as SPAM or is it from not ordering.

The email account I use for Shopsmith is a fairly new account & receives very little mail - so it would be easy to catch.

I've ordered multiple items for a total of 10 orders since February & most of them have been off the "email specials".

I just find it highly curious that e-mails had stopped, especially due to the fact that I had taken advantage of them. With now three items on backorder (crosscut auxiliary table, gray touch-up paint, and coupler cover for the bandsaw), I was wondering whether or not the two issues are related. Incidentally, before anyone suggests calling SS, I have been doing that on an intermittent basis and have been given various dates when those items would be sent out. The latest anticipated date is in two weeks which I have been told on previous calls. Oh well, let's wait and see.

I dropped my old ISP when I got broadband and so the email I was on the list with died...
I originally figured it was because I never bought anything by email. I live close enough that I used to just stop in the Dayton factory store and paid cash so they probably didn't have a record of what I was buying. While we live south of Indy my wife's family was/is mostly from the Richmond area. Richmond IN is not all that far from Dayton OH and just made a nice weekday "Sunday drive" to pick up a few things. We have a number of good friends in Central OH. I also used to buy some stuff on ebay from a nice AF Col. at Wright Patterson AF Base.
I'll have to sign back on with one of my new email addys. Just seeing the word "Shopsmith" gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.
I really miss that factory store. I don't think I was ever in there when there were not several other customers in there.
