I get the same thing that Dusty did. 25 each of 25 different ones would be 625. 625 into $25.00 is .04. Unless I'm figuring wrong.

You get 25 screws of different types. It doesn't say you get 25 screws of EACH type.

I went to Mcfeely site and the deal is 25 screws each of 25 different types so the total number of screws is 25x25 or 625 plus you get four driver bits one #2 square one #3 square and two star all for the cost of $25 plus a dollar shipping.

Unfortunately most of the screws are pocket hole screws of which I have plenty of Kreg screws so the deal was of no interest to me.

However they have a 5lb and 10 lb boxes of sweepings or left over screws at $12.50 and $25 which a far better deal and that does tempt me but I'm not in the mood to sort pounds of screws at this point in life.

I ordered their catalog and I will wait and see what they offer in it. But it seems like all their deals include some totally useless screws or very specific function screws that make the deal not as good as they seem at first blush.

I often wonder why companies do that with their introduction type packages. I would think they would offer some very common normal use products to build customer loyality but nearly everyone tries to unload some product they can't normally sell.

BUT in the original statement it wasn't mentioned 25 of EACH screw.

DUSTY: You have already suffered sticker shock at a hardware store screw department(on the other screw thread). I would think 0.04 per screw would seem a bargain. All depends how many of those 625 screws actually get used.

BTW the 'train' problem is a 'related rates' problem. algebra helps 'solve' it(unless it is one of those trick riddles which after you are told makes you feel like a neanderthal).

Ain't English wonderful? I interpreted it to mean 25 each of 25 types, BUT as has been pointed it did not EXPLICITLY say that. I think 1.04 per screw(including shipping) would clue in to the fact that the deal was for 25x25 screws not 25 screws.
I think these screws are really good, but not that good. After all we ARE talking about SCREWS!:rolleyes:

At the prices we are talking about for construction hardware, I am not buying anything until I have emptied all the coffee cans and checked them out.

I moved all my salvaged hardware into one location a week or so ago. I was sorta disappointed at how little there is left. I sure regret the day when the Air Force closed the salvage yard to non active duty military. That was a treasure chest that I never used enough - now that I recognize that, I can not get in.
