There are a few things we do know such as Model 10ER serial number R53198 was made in the Western Plant in April 1951. This was the time the Locks for the Headstock and Carriage went from double wedge locks to single wedge locks. The serial number ER40908 was the starting number for that change in the Eastern Plant again in April 1951. During the 1950 - 1951 fiscal year about 2340 Model 10ER tools were made each month between the two plants.there are not any records like the Mark 5/V has as to when one was made.
