your earlier reply had me on the sketchup site this afternoon so I downloaded this before seeing today's postings here.
I also found a few other SS items by you and others.
nice work.
I bit the bullet and downloaded the version 7 of sketchup despite the new end user license that gives google permission to upload and dload whatever and whenever from my computer without asking me.

I've had more success with some versions of turbocad than I have had with sketchup. both of them give me fits. I very much miss my nice, simple, 2D Drafix. FWIW, some of the advanced features in turbocad sometimes stop working after a minor version patch and then start working again after the next minor version patch. the suggestion that I was given was to always dload the 30 day trial of the new major version and test drive it with the features that you care about before committing to buying an upgrade. especially true for extrusions and lofting. putting in threaded holes in aluminum angles and creating a double helix have both been challenging for me.

Sure wish I was that good with Sketchup! It takes me forever to get the designs, or looks, I want and if I don't use the program for a few weeks, I forget what little I thought I knew.......

Man that is fantastic. It looks like you just took a picture of it. How long did it take you to do it? I have played with it a little, but just can't get the hang of it.

Thanks Joe, took 2 evenings to do. Texture mapping really helps with realism (SN Sticker, SS Sticker, sandpaper). If you have questions on using SketchUp, don't be afraid to ask.

Here's my next SPT model, and a special
tip-o-the-hat to mbcabinetmaker for his assistance... As before, this model has been placed in SketchUp's 3D Warehouse, if you want to use it just do a search on ShopSmith and you'll find it right away.
On to the next SPT...

I drew them... I know the latest design doesn't look like those, but the older model does. They're directly off photos that MBCabinetmaker took for me.
