Thanks for the help, I got the planer blades aligned to a new mark ~1/32 up from the original mark meaning my planer is finally working!
I measured the planed wood with digital calipers, it was the same thickness left to right and front to back so no issues there, I adjusted the depth gauge to match the thickness of the blades although it was already reasonably accurate.
Unfortunately I ran into another issue this time with the outfeed roller, even with the lowest tension, there are still marks in the board from it. On my planer, the outfeed roller is serrated and the infeed roller is smooth. On the shopsmith website, the outfeed roller they sell is smooth and the infeed roller is serrated, should i swap the infeed and outfeed rollers so that the serrated one is infeed and the smooth one is outfeed?
