It's made out of white oak and the nose is maple.

Very nice rocking chair. I'm sure the granddaughter will cherish it for a long time and probably will pass it down to her future children. Your chair looks so much nicer than the picture of the rocking chair plan at Rockler. Great Job!! It's those projects for the grandchildren that always have such good memories.

Just posting in, I have been slack lately. All my work hit at once about 2 weeks ago. Just finished a large wine cooler (10' long x 8' tall) for a restaurant and now working on a pecky Cypress kitchen. Didn't build a cabinet (for profit) for over 3 months. I guess that is what they mean by feast or famine. I'll take the feast!:D

I'm inclined to agree with Bruce.....it's good to see SS owners showing us finished projects instead of showing us how to achieve blade tolerances within .002 of an inch! There certainly are a lot of talented woodworkers that post here and I, for one, certainly look forward to seeing their talented projects.

I would like for us to see more of those projects, too. But since we don't, I can only assume that there are not too many of those projects out there to show off.
I know that I don't make anything of that caliper. How about you?

I really enjoy seeing projects like this as well as how to achieve blade tolerances within .002" so keep them all coming!
