It sure is nice to have the manuals for all these tools. Some were still in the plastic bag.
Here are a few of the smaller tools.
This box has lots of small tools that were never even opened. There is a mortising set with three bits, a drum sander, two faceplates, the disk sander and lots of sandpaper, a molder, assorted arbors, drill bits, and a half dozen band saw blades.
Finally, I took a look at the Gray. It seems to be in quite excellent shape. The box for the safety tools in in the background on the saw table.

I was really lucky, and I am guessing it is rare to find tools from 1980 that have barely been used, or not used at all. It was about the price of a new jointer or a new bandsaw.
The tools were in a dark garage, and I really did not realize how many of them there were and how many of the small ones had never been opened.

Hey - like JPG mentioned, the metal plate beneath the sand paper on the belt sander may have some rust. Also check it for flatness. I had to replace mine once, after I overheated it and it warped.

You are quite correct regarding the belt sander platen, however my comment was regarding the band saw.

Thanks Chuck for your tip to check the belt sander plate and JPG for reminding me to add oil to the jig saw. I checked the bandsaw table and it was a little discolored. I hand polished it with Brasso, but thought it needed a little more work. I sprayed it with a heavy dose of WD-40 and will let it sit for a while before I try to polish it again. I know I could polish it out in about 1 minute with the Weiler nylon brush, but think hand polishing is safer if it is not too rusty. The pipes on The Gray (hand polished) have a slightly different appearance than my Greenie where I had to use the brush.
Unfortunately, my digital camera seems to be on the fritz. I did get some before pictures of my bandsaw table, but not sure when I'll be able to take more pictures. Maybe I can borrow my wife's camera.
