Where in CO are you? I'm in the Springs. Witch t*t cold here, too. Next purchase is a woodstove for the garage.

As Farmer has said, the contents of the scrap bin is a source of HEAT!]that[/B] frame of reference!

BTW Open flames and sawdust are not a good combination. Be Careful!

High of 10 here today.

It's 7 now. Veritable heat wave compared to yesterday.

hey, Logan,

your avatar got me to look at your public page and see where you are. it may be cold there now but at least the mosquitoes aren't buzzing. the air probably smells better than in the summer, too (just guessing).

I spent June of '99 commuting between Loveland and the CHILL at Greeley. beautiful country, but the skeeters were worse than here (pre-tiger mosquitoes here) and the odors were worse than my uncle's farm when I was a kid (he only had 1000 laying hens and a few dozen dairy cows). wish I could have stayed for the 4th of July party there. it sounds like a lot of fun.

updated profile so... witch t*t cold is an accurate description.
ps. They are only allowed to have burn night once a week now so the smell isn't so bad... However Greeley stinks for many other reasons than that...lol

I used to work for Hensel Phelps Construction Company, which is headquartered in Greeley.

The president of the company used to say that "Greeley smelled like money."

I still maintain that it smells like cowsh**.

CHILL is north of the airport. so the wind direction determined the smell. cattle truck washout was to the south, cattle feed lots were to the north and west, but there were several large chicken coops to the east: cowsh** or chickensh**. it was still beautiful to look at and I can see why he thought that it smelled like money.

Hey, welcome to a fellow Colorado guy! I've spent lots of time in Greely and the smell is really both. Cow manure and money both smell like that!:D When the state wrestling tournament was held at UNC, we always hoped the wind was "in our favor", other wise we had a mix of cow and wrestler that was pretty awful!
I am on the western slope and we are still freezing our beak off. 14 below this AM! With several of us on board here, we may have top start a colorado group.
