Senior moments!

Don't beat your self up, I spent a good 2 hours trying to figure out how to get the 45 cut lined up before I realized that the SS had this little thing called a quill, it moved in and out and works quite nicely for all kinds of things. Like lining up the blade and slot, drilling, sanding and such!:o They should advertise that more!
I didn't cut the ring off, but I came very close. I reserved my best SS senior moment for throwing away the key and vertical handle for my planer. They were packed in two little bags, and I very carefully disposed of them with the other packaging. I couldn't just throw them in the trash, oh no, I had to burn it as well!
The ring will take some of the crunch out of the falling head stock, but it will still bend the insert. Yep, did that as well, although I will tell you that is one of those "ya only do it once" deals. It taught me to do the 5 point check.
