Thanks, I built the archway and columns. The picture is in the foyer, the arch leads to the living room. The photo is a fountain in the gardens at Versailles.

Wow, great entry-way.
Back to the map. Kinko's will duplicate large photos and posters. Then you can keep the original. If that is not important, crafts stores have a couple of sprays to hold down the map before the plastic overlay. 3M 777 is more permanent, although thinner will loosen it, but damage map. There is another spray for easy release, but I would be afraid that it may also leave a residue on a valuable memory. Many framing stores use double sided acid free clear tape to spot fasten paper under the glass.
A pre-made frame is always an option, but I too would rather exhibit my work to friends.
