I like the concept of a National Shopsmith users organization, perhaps eventually with local chapters, but this is not exactly a casual thing. It would have to be a legal entity with elected officers, directors, by-laws, and probably even liability insurance. I suspect that Shopsmith would even have to give approval for the use of the name "Shopsmith" in the organization.

Probably the best way to get started would be for interested persons to meet in Dayton and set up a temporary "exploratory" organization. Then perhaps a year later the permanent organization could be established at a second meeting.

I suggest Dayton because Shopsmith could lend some initial advice and expertise. The organization however should be an entitity entirely separate from the company from a legal standpoint.
