The sandpaper is intended to be applied and removed several times. The velcro disk is intended to be applied once. Wood knot they use a different adhesive??? I applied mine (to a brand new disk) without cleaning or heating, in 1995, and it has knot failed me yet.

Hi Gang
An alternate source for 12" velcro discs is "Supergrit.com " in Gettysburg Pa. I have used theirs with good results. The method for attaching the velcro that I use is to hold the velsro to the steel disc with some masking tape above the centerline of the steel disc. Then raise the bottom half of the velcro and remove the backing paper up to the approximate center of the disc and cut the backing paper off. Stick the velcro to the bottom half of the disc and then remove the masking tape and stick down the top half of the velcro. This keeps the velcro aligned and centered on the disc.

Here we have to stick it in the frig for 5 minutes to get it cooled down to 85.;)
