I simply hope Tommy is successful in developing a following that will serve to encourage more woodworking.

In my opinion, every one of the woodworking shows on T.V. has had a positive effect on the D.I.Y. activity.

I won't try to compare Tommy with any other woodworker.

I think trying to make such comparisons is a mistake. Each is an individual and as such will appeal to a certain group of personalities.

There were those that hated Norm just as there were those that loved him. I'm sure this new guy will find a similar reception.

Remember some people would be upset even if you hung them with a new rope!

Personally, I would be upset regardless of the condition of the rope!:D

So the first two episodes of "Rough Cut With Tommy Mac" have aired now (at least on my local PBS station). What are your thoughts? I have actually enjoyed the show. It feels a little rushed, but what should I expect for a 30 minute show?

There might be a new show to watch in the absence of New Yankee Workshop but there is no replacement available for Norm.

I'm up still undecided after watching the two shows I taped. I think he'll get better as time goes on.
