Zeev Perry over on the Yahoo 10erusers group makes an arbor to adapt the biscuit joiner to the 10E/ER. Don't think the seller was aware of this.

And why should we think that seller is any more 'aware' than a lot of others?:rolleyes::D;)

It always amazes me how some peoples minds function (or don't).
Some years ago my wife called a lady about an older but supposedly great shape Cadillac she had ran an ad for. The ad said "no rust"... My wife specifically asked her on the phone about any rust just to verify it. Again the answer was a clear "no rust"... We drove the 25 miles over there to look at it and quickly found the house and the car. She was right... there was no rust. It had already all fallen off of the car...
There were so many big rust holes in the car that you could not have hauled cats in the trunk...
Did she think we wouldn't notice???

Was it otherwise in good shape? How much were you able to talk her down?:)

[quote="JPG40504"]And why should we think that seller is any more 'aware' than a lot of others?:rolleyes::D]Well as the seller should be knowledgeable of what he is selling. The seller was posed and posted the question of whether it would work on a 10ER; his reply was an affirmative. The questioner did not know, therefore the question. If sellers don't know.........they should say it.

I agree!!!!! Unfortunately it is all too common for the seller being ignorant of what they are selling and what it fits!

I missed that 'detail'! I did not scroll down to see the Q&A banter. I was wondering why you were mentioning the 10ER detail.

BTW why won't it fit the 10 quill shaft??? My 10E is apart or
I would 'check it out" meself!

The joiner blade arbor is too short for the ER. The joiner mounts on the quill housing of the ER fine. But if you measure the distance from the stop/shoulder on the quill housing to the tip of the quill the Mark V you will find it is significantly longer than the distance on the ER. As I noted, Zeev Perry over on the yahoo 10erusers group makes an arbor to allow the use of the joiner on an ER.

I didn't even get out of the van. If she could lie that blatantly that easy how could I believe anything she said...
She wasn't some confused elderly lady, she was just a liar. Too many cars (or Shopsmiths or anything else) out there to deal with a blatant liar.

I have never sold any SS items, but I have sold "stuff" on E bay and my last item was some thing I found and put on the net. I had no idea what it really was, and said so in the listing. I said here is a bottle, this is what it says on the bottle and let it go at that. It didn't seem to bother folks at all! I actually asked the winner what he had bought and he happily told me all about the thing! I do think items get on there that are just out of the range of the sellers knowledge and often they are not trying to cheat, they just don't know they don't know. I saw a SS with a bunch if accessories listed as SS. About 6 of the 40 or so items were not SS, but came with the package when this guys inherited it. He had no clue. On the other side I bought a SS item that did not fit my machine.:o I should have checked some where other than the seller.

The 'sellers' that really irk me are the ones who won't acknowledge to themselves that they do not know(and are just plain wrong) and refuse to make a 'correction' when said miscues are pointed out.

I have been accused of 'harrassment' when informing them of their 'error when I was just trying to be helpful!

Takes all kinds!

Yeah! That's the "I'm right and don't want to be confused by facts" syndrome.
