What new stuff do you have?

OK guys I cannot believe today, Was taking the wife shopping for a used piece of furniture and we drove by the ReTool store that sells used tools. Car just turned into the lot. Last time I was there they had an old SS air compressor I was going to see if it was still there and see if I could get it cheap just to have it.
Well turned the corner and ran right into a 50th anniversary 520 fully loaded. Could not see all the extras, four boxes of extras and a Jointech complete. Looked at the price and it said $898. I asked the guy was that just for the machine or all of it. Well it was for all of it. My wife said she thought I was going to have a heart attack and start drooling right there. Started going through the boxes and found complete router table and extras, complete mortising set up and all the bits two SPT stands for storage. All the books, sharpening jig, Drum sander and disks, tenon master, cross cut table, even extras I have never really see just heard about and the wild thing was most of it has never been opened. I am working on a list of everything that came with it and going to go through and service it since I was told it has been setting for a couple of years. Runs through the speeds just fine just needs to cleaning inside and waxing.

SDSMITH, you are right on the part beside the Jointech feather board it is a jointech Saw Train, what ever that is, It has tons of knobs, measurements and adjustments. Comes with a huge book and two videos. I just spent the afternoon going through all the boxes and clean up the machine. Still some more oiling and adjustments to do. The speed dial is off and needs adjusting but runs through the speeds fine. Found the original sale papers and it was from Jan 12, 2002. The guy never stopped buying extras. He had the bandsaw at one time and the speed reducer but I found the head for the reducer and some parts but got real excited when I thought that might be in one of the boxes. I added some more pictures and you can get an idea of all the extras with this find. The guy at the shop said he has someone at least once or twice a month trying to sell him SS totals or parts. He now has my number.

OK. this is also true, I did ask if he would take less. I offered him $800 and he would not come down. but I did get him to go from $130 on the compressor to $30 and he delivered the SS to my house. So yes I am a little ashamed but not too much. Remember I am looking for work right now. But somethings I cannot pass up.

Bill, I enjoy my Jointech saw train. What I am curious about is in the above picture between the compressor and the floating tables. Do you know what that is yet? Also, did you get the router plate with the Jointech router table? Have fun with the Jointech, you can do some interesting things with it. I even used mine to make floor vents out of wood for my hardwood floors.

I've made a few additions to the shop lately. First was a Grizzly Metal Body Trim Router. I read the reviews, and they were mixed. I figured it was one of those chances where you either get a good one, or a lemon. I have already put it throught it's paces, and its great. I use a P.C laminate router at work and this does every bit as well. The P.C costs 160 bucks, this one - 42 dollars!

I also picked up an Arrow T-50 staple gun, new old stock, for 4 dollars. A work horse that won't die. I really don't need a stapler since I have an old Duo-Fast that is still spittin' 'em out, but for 4 dollars I couldn't say no.

I picked up this Craftsman drill bit sharpening jig for 15 dollars, with instructions and the box. Evidently this model is still available in a cheaper quality knock off that comes new at twice what I paid with no instructions! I haven't tried it yet, but goodness knows I have plenty of drill bits that could make use of its services. It gets good reviews from those that have used it.

I would like to report that I just picked up a new ShopSmith "PowerPro" headstock, but no such luck .

Mickyd..... I'm getting mixed signals. Have you been bitten by the woodworking bug or the tool acquisition bug? The treatments are completely different so it's important to know. BTW, neither is curable.

SDSSmith, I am not sure what that is yet. I got all sorts of adaptors. The router table and looks like an over the top router shield, I know it is not the one for the MKV since that one is there also new and still in the box. The large manual did not tell me much so I really don't think it is all that came with it. I did get two videos I need to watch yet on it. The books has patterns and markers that go on the fence to show repeated cuts etc. from what I can gather. Looks like this thing will do a lot I just need to find the right information to use it. I might be asking you questions later. But here is closer pictures of that part. Any ideas?
