I install 2 new R8Z (1/2"X1 1/8"X5/16") bearings using a 9/16" ID 6" pipe and hammer.

Notice the use of a 'gear puller' and a 'pipe/hammer'. I believe that is why ss asserts the bearings are NOT replaceable. Same story for motor bearings, and main shaft bearings.
If yer capable of doing it, they ARE replaceable, but ya gotta have the 'tools' both mechanical and skill wise. Not for the timid souls!
