JPG- yes, one featherboard is between the front of the table and the disc, and the other is between the rear of the table and the disc, so that the board is being pushed against the fence both in front of and behind the disc. I'll take a picture as soon as I find the camera.
By the way, Mark, sorry for hijacking the thread.

No problem guys. We are all here to learn new things and to help others when needed. That why I joined this board. I have learned allot already and have owned a SS for about 22 years and I'm still learning new things. Now just wish I had more time to use the SS but that will come in the not to distant future.

When I came up with the min size, I was only considering the jointer. The distance from the shaft end to the mounting tubes is less than the distance of other spt's.
I believe Bill Mayo's opinion is based on those considerations. see below
