goo gone is a product to remove sticky residue...you can find it at autozone/dollar store.
Well in this area South Florida,..its not a bad price really...the only thing on my mind is I will want to upgrade it to a 510-520 and will sell off some of those parts anyway....so why not just buy a cheaper unit and build it up from there.
510-520 sell for $2500, $3000 and more in my neck of the woods.

One thing you can try is go to
http://www.craiglook.com. Search for 'shopsmith' and put in your zip code. On the second screen click on 'increase search radius to 200 miles'. That will show you all the shopsmiths on craigslist in your area. You should also search on 'shop smith'.

IMHO hold off, unless there is more than what can be seen in the photo. Personally, I would look for a 510 or 520. The tables are larger on the 510 and 520s and the fences system is nicer. It appears to have some rust on it, how much rust, would need to be evaluated in person. Rust can be difficult to deal with. It would make a great mini or even a second SS set-up as a drill press.
