Sheez! Talk about adding to the cornfushun!
First Magna American[after Magna Engineering and Yuba Tool] had the Mark 5 then introduced the Mark VII(and had a label on it that said Mark 7[as well as label(s?) saying Mark VII]).
Then Shopsmith Inc. [Re]introduced the Mark 5 as a Mark V and had a total memory failure of the fact that previous manufacturers referred to them as Mark 5's.
Now RLF Tools introduces a modified version of the Mark V and calls it a Mark 7.
I assume the reason for all these model designations are due to who owns copyrighted names. I also assume SS Inc did Not get either manufacturing rights nor copyright to the Mark VII and only had manufacturing rights to the Mark 5 but not the copyright to Mark 5 name.
Hence we have Mark V and Mark 7 current production.
IMHO the Mark 7 needs to be different any who since it is different from the VII.
Excedrin will help that headache I just caused you from trying to get yer brain wrapped around all this!;)

The only thing confusing about ALL OF THIS is that at one time Magna identified the same piece of equipment as a Mark VII and a Mark 7. Other than that, it is all perfectly clear.
Now that RLF is using the terminology Mark 7 one must assume that either "Mark 7" was never registered, OR RLF is violating copyright, OR that time has voided the protection of the copyright OR RLF has acquired the right to use "Mark 7".
It seems to me that there has been a post that suggests the later.
I would have preferred "Mark V Model 530" but no one asked me.

Wonder why!
