Hi, all - thanks for your generous responses. I am printing the thread and reviewing it with my dad today and will be in touch.

Thank you so much! I know he'll feel better with this in a good home. Alas, I'm just not very good with saws (had a band saw break on me at age 13 and have been tramuatized since, I think :p) so, much as I would love to make use of this, it's not in the cards. But, like my dad, I just want it to go where it will be used.

I feel ya. I cut my left index finger off at the first knukle. But I got back on that horse and am more careful than ever now...

Thanks, all. The SS has found a good home via this forum. I wish we had one to give to everyone. :D
