IE and Firefox both show the "Quick Link" feature on the red bar toward the top of the page. It's not visible in either Chrome or Safari browsers on my computer.

I am using Safari and I have Quick Links on the red bar at the top of the forums page.

Interestingly I was reading an article yesterday (can't recall where) that was just gushing over IE9. The author compared it to the present assortment of browsers and declared it a winner over them all.
Cited increased speed, more screen area (less toolbar type things across the top and bottom of screen), better use of HTLM 5 and a number of other things.

The author said in the past IE was always an also ran but IE9 is now the horse that is out front and running strong.

I don't know I'm still on IE7 tried IE8 and found it so screwed up I didn't want to leave it on my system. IE9 won't run on XP so I may never experience it for myself. IE7 works for me.

I have tried it on an iphone, ipad, and imac. All are running a flavor of Safari and Quick Links displays and works. Haven't tried Safari on a Microsoft box (yet).

I don't know Iµ'm still on IE7 tried IE8 and found it so screwed up I didn't want to leave it on my system. IE9 won't run on XP so I may never experience it for myself. IE7 works for me.

XP was released over a decade ago, design started around 15-20 years ago. That's an eternity in technology world. It's an old dog that's ready for a trip to the vets. Plus if they make it last forever, they won't make any new money.

Trying to figure out the issue with New Posts link not getting any results.

When you click on the New Posts link in the red bar do you get the following address in you browsers address bar??

http://www.shopsmith.net/forums/search.htm?searchid=197124

When you hover over the New Posts link, do you get the following address in your status bar?

http://www.shopsmith.net/forums/search.htm?do=getnew

If you click on the two links I show, do you get new posts?

I have not been following this thread but:

To your first question - NO: I get http://www.shopsmith.net/forums/search. ... hid=198522

I see no indication at all when I hover on "New Posts".

While hovering, if I click on New Posts, I get the address in my first answer.
