JPG and crew, thanks for the help. I've been made an offer that I would be a fool to refuse (please tell me if I'm wrong. Based upon the serial number it's a 1980 Mark V 500 upgraded to the 510. It comes with the following SPTs:

Bandsaw
Scrollsaw
Jointer
Strip Sander
Belt Sander

There's probably more, but the guy doesn't know as he inherited it when his father-in-law died. He just wants the space. I ran it through all the speeds, no untoward noises. I checked the locks and sliding of the headstock, all seemed good. I'm pretty sure its the single-bearing quill, but that's honestly the only thing I can see that I might want to upgrade at this point.

All that for $1000. Good deal, right?

Thanks guys for your help.

IMHO the bandsaw, belt sander and jointer would be worth the asking price alone, unless you prefered stand alone SPT's. Merely the fact that you get all those SPT's and a 510 and possibly the 500's tables, Outrageous in my neck of the woods. Cross the I's and Dot the T's! Put the pedal to the metal in whatever vehicle and go get that baby! :D

Yeah, I couldn't believe it when he told me what he wanted for it. I put up a wanted at on Craiglist, and he responded right away. I asked him what he had (he didn't know model number or year, but I figured it out upon checking it out), and as he listed off all the SPTs, I was thinking, this is going to be out of my price range. Then he dropped the grand bomb, and I had to control my giddiness.
