Take a look at http://www.songofthegreatlakes.com/index.htm. Not sure if he's done other than banjos, but perhaps there might be some items of interest.

Here's another. This is the Telecaster forum's "$210 challenge." This guy doesn't even mention his Shopsmith, but look at the photo where he is resawing his top wood.
