what about the jigsaw? I noticed it only has one trunion, which implies that weight of the table could be an issue. The jigsaw table is pitifully small and has no miter slot...so it could use some improvement

That's an interesting idea. Especially since I have a second 500 main table. Wish the pictures had survived the crash. I'm gonna have to go out to the shop and take a look at that now.
Jig Saw Table

I had to cut a many pieces of 2"' X 4' X 8' rigid foam insulation to insulate a 26'X32' metal building (roof & walls). I used a 2'X4' 1/2" piece of plywood and bolted the jig saw trunnion to the bottom of the 2'X4' plywood using metal threaded inserts. I drill a hole for the blade. I cut dozens of 8' long pieces of the rigid foam for each specific location. I had planned to use a 2"x2" board as a fence (C clamp at each end) but each piece was a different width (30"-42") so I marked each piece of foam using a 1"X4" 8' straight board. Quick down & dirty however I made quite a mess. I still have small pieces of foam flying around after 3 years.
