I hadn't really looked at the original link close before but I do see that it now reads $2700 I also see that he has a pic of a Smithy and a Shopsmith both...

Which one does he have???
On that Smithy brochure I noted a couple of things I had not known. One is that if you want to use the upper stub shaft like for the bandsaw you have to remove the "knurled" drawbar and anything mounted in the collet as well as the collet itself.
I also wonder what happens when a shop rag or sleeve brushes against that "knurled" drawbar handle? I'll bet it could eat cloth fast...
Another notation was the comment that the power feed carriage kit was "not suitable" to be used with the 220V motor option...
I had forgotten just how directly they had copied the Shopsmith basic design before they started making changes.
