Yes! The modern multipurpose power tool is all that and more :)

I will put more up as soon as I can. This is considered a private showing for our little woodworking club.

Because this is a private video for members of this forum, you have to know the url to view the video. You won't find it by searching youtube. Here is the link again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cSDPbxLy6c

ddvann79 wrote:Agreed. That part of the video feels like today's shady infomercials where the "old way" is dramatized to make the new product look more appealing. In my opinion, that's less than honest but this practice has changed significantly over the last fifty years. We don't have as many snake oil salesman in the trades (from my perspective). Those tactics are reserved mostly for the mass-produced imports "As Seen On TV". Even Shopsmith's literature has changed quite a bit from old flyers extolling the machines' "ruggedness," "accuracy," and "simplicity." Today's literature is heavy on facts and makes fewer grandiose claims. At least that's the way I see ti. Don't get me wrong, that was the acceptable way to advertise back then and I love watching it. I didn't know such videos existed!

The one thing I noticed is his lack of securing things(tightening set screws so as to insure proper seating). He either just flips his wrist, or 'nothing'.

I also noticed it is an early Greenie he is demoing. This film is probably a product release creation.

Everyone's thinkin it, somebody's gotta say it.......this is sooo cool its "sick" :D
Its in color? so what year could it have been filmed??

Interesting fact: did you know it could cost "hundreds" of dollers to add a room to your house?

I would love to see the rest, they should have a cd one could aquire. Perhaps with some input from all of us maybe?

No guard on the saw. No anti-kickback prawls. Not even a splitter. :o

But it is still a super-awesome video!

Love the opening credits printed on boards being ripped!

The neighbor's workshop in the video looks like the workshop featured on the literature of the 50's (http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/detail.aspx?id=2691).

Tom, WHERE did you get this?

How are you doing the conversion? It almost looks like it's film being projected on a wall being recorded with a video camera?

One and the same is my guess. Why not? If you have the set, use it.
