...And after. Pressure treated railroad ties (well, what's CALLED railroad ties). Used my japanese pull saw to cut half laps at the corners, and spiked the logs to the ground with re-bar. Re the timber treatment, IIRC, the 'newer treatment' is less hazardous to our health(that was why it was changed).

Nope, the other one is on the other end of the garden, both filled with chicks 'n hens. And I harvested the dandelion crop the other day. Used it to fill a hole in the compost heap:D

I had concerns about food safety but my son, the chemical engineer, informed me that drainage goes DOWN so there is no danger. I'm not sure he is right but we are still here and in good health all these years later.

The clips are used for holding plastic sheeting to the PVC frame over the peppers at the back of the house.

I don't use misters the hose is just hanging on the pipe. However, this is definitely on the to do list. I had a different bed lay out with drip irrigation installed but it wasn't working out for me so the whole thing got ripped out and all the beds redone. I just finished the last two beds a few months ago.

I don't use shade cloth although I have considered it. There are so many trees around my garden that my biggest issue is not enough sun most of the year. If we have a cloudy spring and summer I don't get many tomatoes.

I am envious of your raised garden and the size of the all the beds. Where I live I am having a hard time finding a spot for a garden in general. I have over 1 acre of land but 2/3rds of that is on a 30 degree slope down toward a river, making it hard to plant. The front yard is protected by the city as I live in a historic distric. Putting in stones to edge in a flower bed is frowned upon let alone putting a raised garden in.

I did buy several packages of seeds this year though to push myself to find a place to plant a garden.

If ya got suggestions, let me know

LOL, That was pretty funny. My neighbor actually has his hill tiered a bit. The problem I have is a I have a septic system that uses that hill for the drain line. I would hate to screw that up for some gardens. On a plus note, it looks like my road is going to get city sewer so if they do, and I pay all the sewer tie in fees/ monthly costs, I may have a few pennies left to tier the back yard and make a Machu Picchu garden

Ok, the garden slated for a couple weeks ago was on hold due to weather and then Easter ect.
It became a project targeted for completion on Mothers Day with a few hitches, but I got er done.

Beacause of Easter, and my caving in on a particular purchase, this became the first issue....
