I'm seeing so many really fantastic paint jobs that I may have to repaint my rehabilitation unit. I painted it but nothing like these.

I love that color scheme...
How did the carriage come out? I hope you took that setscrew out and put it in a coffee can someplace.

Good idea to plug the hole too so no one gets tempted to put one back in there. In the parts listing that set screw should be listed as a "carriage breaker".
.
Now I'm really in trouble

Thanks everyone, its a lot of fun, and now my 8 yo daughter comes out to the garage and helps with the "polishing". She says things like shouldn't you be wearing gloves daddy?
This weekend however, I went over to the Valley (San Fernando) to look at some SS parts, and ended up buying the guys whole setup, another mid-fifties greenie, in better shape than mine was...
Two is always better right? saves on setup time....
prolly need counseling.

Hi Robinson46176, The MickyD Fix worked great!. I couldnt get the set screw out of the fragment, so I left it in:o. Hopefully I won't drop the head anytime soon.
who am I kidding? The JB weld is probably stonger than the aluminum and it'll break in a new place LOL.
