We have including today have had 23 days of over 100°. That is the third hottest on record and it is only August 3rd. The next 6 days are all predicted to be over 100°. We have humidity here too. This is not a dry heat. On average here we have only about 4 days over 100°.
The only plus side is that the grass is dead so no mowing.

Like Farmer, the heat and humidity haven't been conducive to wookworking. The thermometer has registered over 100 deg since July 4th. That, plus little rain has caused the watering bill to go up for the garden, but the mowing has been cut down to every 3 weeks. Did get about 1/2 inch last night, which should be enough to give the weeds something to grow on:rolleyes: . Surgery has also put a damper on things for awhile. Been spending the time getting things ready for school on the 18th; found out I'll be teaching Economics, U.S. Government, and World History this year.

Not a plus side when you are pasture boarding a bunch of horses.

We are in our 33rd day of 100+ degree weather and I literally don't remember the last time it rained. So. No. I haven't been in my shop lately. As a matter of fact I haven't done anything outside the house lately.
Portland is still cool but did get to 87 today. I have a portable ac/heater for the shop. It will under $400 from QVC and Costco is now selling them much cheaper than that.
The only downside is a very small water container needs to be emptied often, I need to work on this.

We hit a record high yesterday of 111. I am not sure how many days of 100 we have had, but it has been a lot. I have a window unit in my shop but do not want to run up the electric bill. I just got back from a week at Wyoming with the boy scouts, the weather was just wonderful. Here are a couple pictures of my thermometer I had in my tent. The afternoon temp was the highest we had all week. Sure made for some good sleeping.

Even on days when temp hit high 90's my a/c has only been turned on five or six times this summer. The builders really did a great job of insulating. Now if the concrete folks had done as well and we hadn't had nearly an inch of rain two days in a row perhaps we wouldn't have been flooded twice. The city crew was here yesterday and began work to solve a drainage issue from a road behind our property. Tomorrow I am planning to begin assembling the sewing machine cabinet. The good Lord and my shoulder willing. Fjimp
