I'm good with it. If your not a mechanical person just hearing "drop the motor pan" would probably make you even more nervous. I sometimes forget to give more information than the bare minimum. If you ned any help just let us know and we will talk you thru it, it really is easy.

Have not yet "replaced" it. But I did bend the arms from too many years of too fast slow down. Read Bill Mayo's post and, since I could not locally find a 2 1/2 inch 10-32, I drilled out the arms and pork chop and put in a 1/4 inch bolt. It required some minor filing of the teeth that were distorted, but it works just fine.

I have received a new pork chop on the chance that my old fix will fail someday. Bill graciously sent me his instruction sheet PLUS a proper bolt.

Some new folks do. And then there are those who may not have thought of the reversed table method and need tp be so informed. Believe me it makes it much easier than dropping it onto the bench tubes etc.!

The problem was that locally I could only find a 1/4 inch long enough that the bolt shank under the pork chop was smooth instead of threaded.

I have only one SS, so when it is down my hobby work stops and I find that not acceptable.

I think I would use 'all thread' before drilling it out! Wear faster, but.......
