I have seen three versions of the bag retraining strap on DC's I have acquired. The original was the plastic strap with the toggle clamp. Then there was a steel strap with a toggle clamp. Most recently, it has been an extra large hose clamp. Personally, I like the toggle style and have not experienced the issues noted at the beginning of the thread by judaspre1982.cincinnati wrote:So what is the band that Shopsmith uses now. That is really hard to answer accurately but the answer is probably yes. The DC sets in the shop area in front of the garage doors most of the time. The morning sun shines in directly. I understand, we are not as arid as you as we might get 10 inches of rain a year. The climate here is hard on paint, plastics, rubber and adhesives.
