A useful demo.

I looked for the fence that Nick used for horizontal boring, but couldn't find it specifically on the SS accessories site. Do you know if that's a standard SS accessory?

I checked out the penturning video (Sawdust Session) to see which fence you are asking about. I think this linkto the catalog may answer your question. The fence is an accessory to the miter gauge.

I'm not sure. The fence in the video looks more solid like the 520 upgrade fence, but maybe shorter.

I'll check out the video again for a closer look.

I musta had a really senior moment, it's so obvious and you're both right. I was looking at the one above with the wood block, which is what Nick had mounted and I selectively ignored the correct fence image.

I think I need to buy the kit.

Ooh, another reason to build a rotary on to my CNC router. Vcarve engrave pen and other turnings! (Yes, I could CNC pens, and might for mass-production, but where would be the fun in that.)

Could use the cnc to pocket the name into one side of the pen blank then either fill the pocket before turning or after.
