The craddle(s) were a good seller a couple of years ago. I got so many requests I got tired of making them. This one has survived the last two H.S. shows without being claimed. Several people admired it but claimed they had no grandaughters to give it to.

Tom:

The tea light holder was made a few years ago, intended as a gift for a grandaughter who ended up with a retail purchased item. It is from a magazine plan, possibly Wood or Woodsmith. Since it didn't sell and a couple more grandchildren have reached adulthood and moved into their own spaces, it will probably go back into the gift category. I suspect the $30 price put some people off.

Chuck:

I am already at work cutting out the blanks for the various bandsawn pieces of the carolers so I should have it ready for painting by next week. Dear wife has already decided she will be changing some of the colours. No woodworking today though. This is hockey day, played this morning and the Montreal Canadiens are on TV as I type so I will be head down stairs as soon as I sign off.

I have attached a picture of a cutting board I made for the show. It is maple with purpleheart strips sandwhiched between two strips of walnut. A lot of people stopped to touch it and feel the smooth wood. It provided a bit of humour as a nice young lady read the care instructions I provide, called her husband over, and said, "See, I told you you are not supposed to put the cutting board in the dishwasher!" I was popular with one half of that couple.

John could I trouble you for a few more cradle pics, have to do one before Christmas but just a doll size version? maybe 16 long?

That is the one. My version was shortened to hold only five candles. I can't recall if that was because I found the original design too long, or if my piece of maple was too short.

The cradle pictured is a doll cradle. It is a Winfield pattern, but we found the bed to be a little small so I added about an inch to both the length and width. I tried to send you a PM with a picture but couldn't so I am attaching a better picture here and will try to PM you with more details later.
