Congratulations! I just built a 12x24 workshop and wish I could have gone 16x24. But don't make the same mistake I did and pile all of your boxes in the new shop then try to organize it. Take your time getting moved in and organize as you go. It will make things much easier on you.

That is what the extra 4' is for!:D

So... I'm thinking of gett in a 18' X 14' tarp (a heavy one,) and rolling it from the top front of the carport and setting up a small ceramic heater. A couple of sandbags to keep the wind from peeping under it, and I have a shop setup. Of course, when the wife comes home, it all goes away again so she can park. Still working on that!

You will not be sorry. It is nice when you quit for the day and not have to worry about moving every thing to get a car in. Plus the wife does not complain about all the sawdust (until she comes out to the shop) and ask when I am going to clean this mess up.

Well they called Sat. and will come out Tuesday if it doesn't rain to build my workshop.
Man I hope it doesn't rain.

I will post pics of it when its built.

Then the real fun begins getting electric and then organizing.

I will keep you all up to date.

Well it rained on Tuesday so Wednesday is the big day. I will take all the pics I can while its being built.

I then need to get an electrician to run a 100ft underground line from my breaker in the house to my new Shop.

I was thinking I would ask him to put in a 100 amp service with 20 breaker spaces 110v only. Or should I get a 220v out there also.

Tom you should definitely get 220. You never know what you might run across in the future. If you are going for that many breaker spaces you will need a heavy wire anyway.
