Interesting!
So what is the needed data rate for HD?

Turning it 'off' helped, but still somewhat jerky at times. That allowed me to 'see' what I was missing.

My bandwidth is 10mbps and I'm averaging 9.8 Mbps. However I don't think you need that much. My old XP desktop ran the video real choppy until I clicked HD off.

I then tried the same video on my wife's laptop using the same cable speed but the laptop is only a year old and it ran fine even with HD on. The Laptop is connected by WIFI which produces a sightly lower connection speed.

So the connection speed was not the problem.

I figure the problem is the video card. My desktop has an ancient intergrated video where the laptop has a much newer one plus I it has a lot more memory avail.

Might be time for me to replace my desktop. Then the question becomes Windows or Apple, Laptop or Desktop.

Would love to have an IMAC with Apple TV and a 16G IPAD on the side. I would then give my windows stuff to the grandkids.

WiFi might be my 'issue'. HD works fine with a usb tuner etc.
