In all seriousiness anything that hangs from your neck will bother you, either schaffing the neck, giving you a stiff neck or just plain uncomfortable.

There are aprons out there that have shoulder straps that go over the shoulder and connec to the waist band in back. This takes all the weight off your neck and doesn't bother you as much.

I wish shopsmith would come out with a really nice shopsmith apron with should straps instead of neck straps.

I would even like the old shop coats the Demo'ers use to wear. If I remember correctly they were blue short sleeved and had to fairly large waist pockets and one nice breast pocket for pencils and rules.

Right now I use a "BucketBoss" brand 14 pocket over the should bib apron. It is always loaded with my pencil, eraser, pen, piece of chaulk, bees wax or soap, tape measure, small piece of sand paper, pocket block plane, small try square, utility knife, small nail set and of course the Shopsmith wrench. In the empty pockets I can carry nails, screws, small parts or whatever.

Man is sure is handy when your in the middle of a job and need to check an angle real quick or wax up a screw to drive it easy and you have what you need right there with you.

I would like to have the SS logo on my apron. Here's what I use and it's like the one Ed spoke of.

It's comfortable, affordable and washable. Anytime I'm making sawdust, I wear it.

Very interesting. So you like the rockler style which is nearly identical to the Shopsmith version with the same advantages. Plus that Shopsmith logo you desire. I have used mine for several years. I enjoy it very much. Incidentally I have a permanently, badly injured shoulder and am unable to wear anything that applies any kind of pressure on that shoulder. This apron is the only one I can comfortably wear, I love being comfortable. The only improvement mine has is an embroidered name badge with my name. Go for the best. Jim

Actually I really like the Shopsmith designed one. I didn't know they made it. But I have one little problem, mine was $10 on sale at Sears which is 1/4 the price of the SS one.

Dare I ask how long ago? Was that a close out sale? Did it include the Shopsmith logo? Jim

That last one I bought was probably less than five years ago. Was it on closeout? I don't know I don't think so. Was it on sale? Yes probably I rarely buy anything that isn't on sale. What was regular price? I don't know but knowing Sears it was probably no more than 20% off sale most likely a 10% off sale.

If I recall I bought the one before than from woodcraft again I know it was on sale but it was so long ago I don't remember the price. Gave that one to somebody when I got my new one.

No sadly it does not have the Shopsmith logo on it. But I got a I love my Shopsmith bumper sticker that I put on my forehead when ever I work in the shop. Perhaps that is why the neighbors look at me funny and it doens't have anything to do with the apron at all.

Cute story. I have never had the blue one, but I did buy the white one when it was on sale, several years ago. I have only remembered to wear it once or twice. I usually remember to blow the dust off before going into the house...my wife is very tolerant of my transgressions... especially if I was in the shop making something for her.
