So here is the deal. I have not received my adapter yet so I can not do any testing or appraisal I'm going to pass this information along in hopes that maybe a few others might want to order an adapter and go do their evaluations.

My side of this effort was only to get to a close to shopsmith quality part as I could find. Given that shopsmith is not making this sort of adapter and will not give out specifications this is about as far as I choose to go with this effort.

I have been in contact with Vic at

http://www.bestwoodtools.com/

They sell shopsmith to:

3/4" x 16 tpi
1" x 8 tpi
1-1/4 x 8 tpi
1-1/2 x 8 tpi
and
33mm x 3.5mm

adapters.

The adapters have the 5/16 -18 set-screws and now they are at a 3 degree angle. All new shopsmith adapters ordered after today will come with the angle, those that have already arbors from them do not have the angle applied.

I'd like to thank Vic for his efforts to make his products all then can be. He was very quick to respond to my suggestions and in fact this all started only last Monday. It has been a pleasure working with him.

Now the normal disclosure, I have not nor will I be receiving and compensation for any of this. I do not work for anyone nor do any of my family work for anyone who might profit by this.

The cost of the adapters are $54.95 plus shipping (mine cost a total of $61.85).

Now I'm looking forward to seeing it in person. I guess this turned out to be an item on my bucket list and I hope to see a check mark by it soon.
