Re: WHAT A CHORE - It has never been so hard!
So the libs are now complaining that Trump did not get the popular vote!!!! Didn't bother them one bit when Billy Boy won with only 43% and 49% of the popular vote.
I have a hunch that the MSM and their reporting of non facts about a Hillary landslide may have actually caused their candidate to lose. By reporting their distorted facts the Hillary backers were lulled into complacency and stayed home while Trump voters were brought out in great numbers because of a sense of urgency. Thus Hillary lost and Trump won.

It is obvious that the liberals are sissies and crybabies. Whenever they don't get their way, they have a temper tantrum.
Now we see which political party has the mature people and which one has the babies.
Do you remember any rioting in the streets when Obama won?

Dave, you beat me to it. Time for name calling to stop. I am not happy about the demonstrations spurned on by the election. My candidate lost, so be it, now let's let the process take over. That's what we do as a nation. It's up to the nation now to move forward. Clinton received the popular vote, but not the electoral vote. I support the electoral system. There are good reasons why it exists.davebodner wrote:Thanks for keeping it classy, guys

Well said CN.I too believe in EC, otherwise the 10 largest cities in the country could be all that is really needed to decide.
Funny last night at a Trump protest rally in Milwaukee, Local News TV station interviewed a lady, she was asked if she voted, she said no, when asked why not, she said she did not care for Hillary or Trump. Then she was asked, in hind sight, would you have voted, she said no. But she is out protesting!!!!

I'm sorry if the truth hurts, but there is nothing classy about this.

Thanks, Chris. I agree with your sentiments. Our candidate didn't win, we're not happy, but we accept the results of the election. We're not rioting.
Garys, if we have to answer for the actions of a very small percentage of dead-enders on our side, then you have a lot of explaining to do, too. I don't think we want to go there.
One candidate spent the campaign complaining about the "rigged" electoral system. Those sentiments were echoed on these pages. Now that some people are acting on those ridiculous allegations, you're surprised. You reap what you sow.

I think that the claim was that "the system was rigged" and I believe it referred as much to the media as it did to anything else. In my opinion, what tipped the scales was the large turnout of electors that often do not go to the polls.davebodner wrote:Thanks, Chris. I agree with your sentiments. If I remember correctly, both Bill Clinton and George Bush were placed in office by the electoral college and not by popular vote. Also, I do believe that while both the popular vote and the electoral college vote went to Obama, the electoral college margin strongly favored Obama and he would have won even without winning the popular vote.
Is the system rigged? I don't think so but the entire process needs to be evaluated. The media, which is largely liberal, needs to report MORE and commentate LESS.

Dusty,
Sure, he says the system is rigged. But, he also quite specifically claimed that the election would be rigged, too. The videos and tweets are unmistakeable. And here's his website.https://www.donaldjtrump.com/landing/vo ... n-observer. He also quite pointedly refused to say he would accept the results of the election.
I'll grant that he gave nice, conciliatory acceptance speech, but Hillary's concession speech hit all the right points, too. She accepts her loss. That was a harder speech to make.
Bill won the popular vote and the electoral vote. What you remember is that he didn't get a majority but, rather, achieved a plurality. GWB lost the popular vote in 2000 as did Trump. GWB won the popular vote in 2004.
"The media" isn't a very useful term. There is a huge disparate media ranging across the political spectrum and operating with different technologies. I can't broad-brush anything across the entire media.

So apply that brush where it fits. Yes it goes 'both ways'. Now which is the greater?
