I finally got some Naylox wheels and cup brushes in the shop. I used them on the table after glass blasting it. They work very well and I think I like them better than wire. I did the top of the table with a RO sander with a 320 grit SS ceramic disk. That worked well. The issue is still the best way to get the black residue completely off the table. Since I did not use any polishing compound maybe a good scrub with soap and water will do it.BuckeyeDennis wrote:I use Nyalox wheel brushes chucked up in my Shopsmith for most such chores. I used one a while back to test clean/polish a section of 10ER table, and that test section went just fine.

Look back through the thread and you will see it. It was a new full up head stock that I bought a Lowe's just before Christmas in 2010 (I think maybe 2011). The demonstrator was Dave Folkerth. We had a good time talking about SS and the 10ER. He went out to his car and brought in a bunch of original 8 X 10 black and white photos from SS adds including the one of Danny Thomas with the SS. It was way cool.
