Tim; It's the combination of IE6 and Windows 2000 that cause the problem. I found a footnote on one of the later webpages I visited while trying to resolve this that said that.

I was using a free test site that I have to go back to; when I rediscover it I'll post here. It offers online tests on a lot of different facets of interest.

I remembered one more thing that seemed to happen to some of the participants that I didkn't like about this trial version of the chat room: You timed out. If you didkn't type something in, you were taken out of the chat room. When I noticed that Nick no longer appeared on the list of people in the chat room, I commented on it. I think that it was Doug (admin), but it could have been Drew, responded with information that Nick had "timed out". Of course, for me, that waskn't a problem. (timing out, that is):D
