Speed reducer????
Oops. I confused something in one of the pics that I thought was a Speed Reducer. I think it might be part of the lower saw guard! Sorry.

The ad does say there is a speed increaser.
The grinding wheel guard??? I thought the same as JPG. Still a great deal though.

Ain't no speed reducer(SS OEM), but a 'thingie' on the band saw input shaft.

Grinding wheel guard?

One item I do not recognize.

Regardless a decent deal.

I didn't notice the 'thingie' on the band saw. The band saw is on the wrong end of the SS so it must be some kind of dust collection 'Thingie'. The grinding wheel guard is in the second picture just to the right of the mortise attachment.

Yep! Not used to seeing it from that angle.

The thingie on the bandsaw may reverse rotation as well as alter speed????

But space in my worksohp is already too tight, and I can't figure out what I might do with it that I can't do with equipment I already own. All Internet searches for info seem to lead to Ed Reible. Let's hope he weighs in.

JPG is right about where they fail. The one I have was repaired and has been working but I managed to find a new one just in case. A design flaw but if one is careful I think you can expect them to be fine, however a little epoxy ahead of time could/would be in order even if it isn't cracked.

Not many around and if you can find the early version with chains it would be a better "find".

If you have questions move them to another tread and ask away.

Amazing what a few hours of sleep will do for one's visual acuity or mental processing. It definitely looks like a dust port this morning on the side it belongs on.

Also amazing what the power of suggestion does for that also.

Yes Ed reducing speed would be a quite amazing feat for a dust port to accomplish! :o :o :o :o :o
