I have been watching this restoration come together and I can honestly say that this is "top shelf"! I have been debating on whether I want to pick up a 10ER and after this restoration I think I am going to start looking a little harder. Beautiful job!

As I said above I have to paint the miter gauge head and slot extension and that will end this thread. They were primed yesterday and will get the first top coat today. The second coat tomorrow and I should have the final pictures tomorrow afternoon.

OK, it is time to call this restoration complete. I am very satisfied how it turned out. I think I have most of the processes figured out to my satisfaction so the next one will be easier or at least less playing around trying to get the results I want. I want to thank everyone for the nice comments and compliments. I will post pictures on the restored machines thread.

Ewww! They's rust INSIDE them way tubes!

Seriously, I've got MUCH MORE rust on the OUTSIDE
of all 6 way tubes I've got.

This is AN AMAZING restoration, or more correctly;

Making a Model 10, if you have all the time and tools,
factory NEVER made them like this!

Know what Steve, about a month ago I was sitting looking at it, thinking about what I may have missed and very truthfully I noticed the same thing. ARGH!!!. I though about taking it apart to fix it but, NAH. Next time I will correct that or maybe get Skip to make me a set of plugs like he did on his.

John, I've seen metal "push-in" plugs, that have those
fingers that grip on the inside, and cover everything.

That is what I'll do. (When {if} I EVER get around to
"restoring" my stuff.

Yes, I have thought about those plugs. I will have to check and see if the proper size is available. As I said Skip turned his own but I don't know if that was because he just wanted to or the other type was not available in the correct size.

Of course, one could always take a wire brush and a drill and shine them up in place. I will certainly do one or the other.
