Christmas Ornaments

Post by ddvann79 »

Very tasteful! Where did you get the hardware for the ornaments and are those turnings of your design?

The hardware is from Woodcraft. My local one was doing a demo last saturday and the wifey said "those are cool, lets get whatever you need for that stuff" =) The nice thing is that they use standard 7mm brass tubes.

As for the design - yeah, I just did whatever came to mind. I am just starting with the turning, so I'm just happy they look like anything. The black ones are ebony, the honeycomb looking one is zebrawood. The one on the right started out as half of a pen blank, but changed to an ornament when the other half broke during milling.
Mark 7, Pro Planer, Jointer, Bandsaw w/Kreg, Biscuit Joiner, Belt Sander, Jig Saw, Ringmaster, DC3300, Overarm Pin Router, Incra Ultimate setup

JWBS-14 w/6" riser, RBI Hawk 226 Ultra, Bosch GSM12SD Axial Glide Dual Compound Miter Saw

You're sure to get the wife's support when it's something for her! I have a list of things to make for Christmas presents so I better get on the ball.

The wood assortment is great and I never would have known one started out to be a pen!

Christmas Stepstool

Post by tdubnik »

This is a stepstool I made for my grandson for Christmas this year. This is so he can better reach inside the toybox I made for him last year.

Started with rough cherry, jointed, planed and band sawed on my Shopmith equipment. Assembled with mortise and tenon joints. No mechanical fasteners.

Yep. Bought some of that rubber stick on stuff from Peachtree Woodworking for something else but it worked well for this.
