An '80's is over 35 years 'old'.

An early 10 is over 65 years 'old'.


Ok so the 'number' is 30!

Guess I was 'thinking' a greenie was over 50 years old and forgot an 80's is 35 years old. My bad!!!

What would be an acceptable price for a Shopsmith Power Stand? An ad I'm following says like new condition, has motor and belt guards. The seller is asking $150. I'm just wondering if that is a reasonable price to buy it now, and hang onto for some day in the future when I buy an SPT and don't yet have the parts to run it off a 10ER.

If you want a Power Stand (with motor) you should probably get it when you can.

I just attempted a search of the Shopsmith catalog and came up blank. It may have become an "out of production" item.

As for reasonable - only you can determine that.

I bought one a few years back, new in the box for $100. That's what they ask for it.

If you check prices on a motor. Even a similar harbor freight motor will cost you almost as much.

The owner did the same thing I did but used the second set of diagonal braces horizontally. That allowed for an even shorter base.
